On 31st August, former YouTuber Ruby Franke was arrested on child abuse charges in Springville, Utah. Police arrested the creator of the YouTube channel, ‘8 Passengers,’ along with Jodi Hildebrandt, her business partner, at 9:33 p.m. Franke co-founded ‘ConneXions’ with Jodi Hildebrandt. This YouTube channel offers parental advice and counseling.
Both Franke and Hildebrandt got arrested on two accounts of unknowingly or intentionally second-degree infuriated child abuse charges. In recent years, the now-deleted ‘8 Passengers’ channel owner has gained national attention along with Kevin Franke, her husband, for mistreating their children from the channel’s viewers.
The couple has six children, who they showed regularly in their family vlogging channel. While viewers earlier were speculating about the mistreatment of six children by the Mormon couple, it seems the speculations were true.
The YouTube channel peaked with 2.5 million subscribers when removed from the platform. Shari, Franke’s eldest daughter, has been vocal on social media in 2022 about being in contact with her family. On Wednesday, Shari finally posted a picture in her Instagram story showing police cars outside their home, captioning it with “finally.”
Who Is Ruby Franke?
Ruby Franke was a popular family vlogger on the platform YouTube before her channel ‘8 Passengers’ was taken down by the venue due to child abuse charges. She is a mother of six children who regularly puts her children on vlogs and records their family life with her husband, Kevin Franke.
Her channel has millions of views and raked up 2.5 million subscribers on her track. In recent years, her parenting choices have garnered much criticism from her viewers and followers online. The criticism increased when Ruby and Jodi Hildebrandt, her business partner, co-founded the support program ‘ConneXions’ to offer parental advice. Online users said the program was a cult that promotes harsh and extreme parenting styles. The program was said to be homophobic, transphobic, and racist comments by viewers.
