Meta Launches Instagram’s Thread App

Table Of Contents

As a direct competitor to Twitter, Meta today debuted Threads, escalating the conflict between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk, two billionaires. People can submit text and links on Threads as well as comment to and repost other people’s posts.

The largest threat to Elon Musk-owned Twitter thus far is Threads, according to many. However, despite its difficulties, Threads has not yet succeeded in displacing one of the most recognizable companies on social media.

In his initial statement following the release of Zuckerberg’s new service, Musk seems to imply that Threads is a copy of Twitter.

In response to a tweet that claimed Threads was created using a keyword with only the keys for Copy and Paste functions, Musk responded with an emoticon of a smiling face.

The launch of Meta’s new software marks the latest confrontation between billionaires Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk, who have even volunteered to face off in a caged fight.

After the debut of Threads earlier today, Zuckerberg sent out his first tweet in more than ten years, a picture of two Spider-Men facing off.

An array of Twitter slip-ups are being taken advantage of by Threads. Since Musk bought the firm in October for $44 billion, it’s laid off thousands of staff, relaxed content moderation guidelines, and presented users and advertisers with a number of technological difficulties.

Twitter recently made a contentious policy change that limited the number of tweets users may access each day. Musk called this “temporary” and said it was done to combat data scrapers and bots. Over five million people have joined Threads in only a few hours, including famous people like Shakira and Jack Black.
