The short film is a sort of sequel to the movie Kung Fu Panda. It was first released on DVD and later broadcast on NBC on February 26, 2009. The film frames the story of Po, where he narrates the stories of his comrades, the Furious Five, in 2D animation. 

Kung Fu Panda Holiday (Short film)

Kung Fu Panda Holiday is a special edition and was released as a television short film on NBC on 24th November 2010. In this film, Po hosts the annual Winter Feast, even though he wants to spend his holiday with Mr. Ping.

This short film was released as a bonus for the Kung Fu Panda: Ultimate Edition of Awesomeness. It shows how the Furious Five were formed and how they fought for the first time against a common enemy.

The fight over who is better forces the other one to try. After their playful battle, they taste the dumplings and like them. 

Are There Any Further Releases Coming?

After the release of Kung Fu Panda 4 and its massive success, Mitchen mentioned that they could make a fifth film. However, there is no confirmed news about the release. If this movie happens, it will not be released before 2027 because of the lengthy production process.
