About the Film: Gayniggers from Outer Space

The Danish movie got quite some hype, first on TikTok and then recently on YouTube when people started talking about it. Wondering about what space movie was made in 1992 is not all about watching a movie. Instead, it is about evaluating a satirical representation of Earth.

The movie, Gayniggers from Outer Space has two significant words of our generation, Gay and Nigger! These terms are significant because they are used as offensive remarks or taglines for individuals. They do not have any control over their choices or preferences of their race or their sexual orientation!

So, is the title of the film a wake-up call about how our society treats a certain group of individuals? Or is it a reference to how these individuals are considered alien to the regular practices of society? Let’s learn more!

Plot

The plot is quite simple! Or that is what I thought until I looked deeper into it. Gayniggers are considered aliens, five of whom are patrolling our solar system. They ultimately discovered our planet Earth which was unknown to them.

They start examining the planet and this is when they realize that women are still alive on the planet. Apparently, these women are ruling men, dominating them on Earth. Gay individuals are judged and oppressed. For them, this is something unnatural, so they call down a gay agent to evaluate the scenario.

The agent is assaulted and wounded by a woman thus, leading to a faceoff! The captain of the spacecraft, B. Dick decided to launch an attack operation where all females must be exterminated from Earth.

They even use rayguns to exterminate all women from planets where homosexual men are oppressed! Before leaving, a gay representation is left on Earth, who will guide all on the different ways of gay life!

Genre

With a run time of 26 minutes, the sci-fi movie is produced by Dino Raymond and Lamont Sanford. It might be categorized as a sci-fi movie, but it explores various themes such as liberation and oppression.

The focus is specifically on the LGBTQ+ community, in real life too, men who are homosexual are often judged. The movie uses humor to explore and highlight the issues in real society. When you watch the movie, it seems like an extended version of how the LGBTQ+ community is treated in real life.

Furthermore, as a woman, I felt the concept of oppression practiced by women was a reality check. It is a challenge to call out the societal norms and how discrimination is a regular practice! Even the names of the characters might seem funny at first but are specifically offensive.
