    On July 14th, 2023, an earthquake in Argentina struck the west-central province area of San Juan at night. As per the information from the Geological Survey in the United States, there were consequential aftershocks around the country.

    The Magnitude of 5.0 aftershock struck within 27 KM around the southwest of Nueve de Julio, which is around 1000 KM on the east side of the first quake. This happens 20 minutes later onwards.

    After that, the Magnitude 4.9 quake hit in the same area of the east side, and then it was followed by the aftershock of magnitude 5.3. In this case, 4.9, 5.0, and 5.3 magnitude quakes have been acknowledged as aftershocks as they are smaller than the main quake of a similar area.

    According to the information gathered so far, no injuries are reported. As per the research-based data of the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (PTWC), there is no indication of a Tsunami threat, at least for this time.

    Reporters gathered information early this Tuesday that Unac local authorities are still analyzing what affects streets and highways in the province area. Despite that, some locations experienced cuts, homes experienced damage in the central town, and so on. Four people also evacuated in the town of Zonda in San Juan.

    According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reports, the quake struck at a depth of 600 KM, which is around 372 miles so far.
